FAQs
How is this assessment different than an intake at an IOp or residential facility?
Firstly, since we are not based on a treatment program and our focus is the assessment process, we are not limited to working with the specialists we have on staff as a treatment program would. Each assessment can be uniquely tailored to a client’s needs regarding which types of testing or specialty evaluations should be involved. We have access to a wide range of specialists who are experts in their fields. Secondly, since we are not primarily a treatment program, we are not incentivized to sell our program to any client. Thus we can be more objective and direct in our findings.
how do you decide which specialists will be involved in the assessment?
Specialists are selected by Dr. Du following the initial assessment planning meeting, and in some cases after the psychiatric, medical, or neuropsychological evaluations, based on the client’s specific areas of concern. As additional needs may emerge during the assessment process, further specialty evaluations may be recommended at that time. Dr. Du will review the potential benefits, limitations, and costs of each option to support informed decision-making.
how long does the assessment take?
The duration of the assessment would depend on the number of specialists evaluations involved. Without any additional specialty evaluations, the assessment would take 2 weeks.
who is this service best suited for?
This service is best for clients with complex medical and/or psychiatric histories, suboptimal response to treatments in the past, confusion or disagreement around diagnoses, decline in functioning due to unclear reasons, or simply an interest in investing in the best possible care.
For Houston clients, Dr. Du will meet with you virtually for the assessment planning and feedback sessions and you will have the option of either seeing Dr. Du virtually or one of our Houston-based expert psychiatrists in person for the mental health evaluation portion of the assessment.
Who will i see for my mental health evaluation if i’m in houston?
Is this worth it if I’ve already seen multiple specialists?
If you’ve seen multiple specialists but still feel dissatisfied with your care or how you’re feeling, a Clarity Comprehensive Assessment may still be valuable. In many cases, prior evaluations have occurred in isolation, without full collaboration or integration across providers, which can lead to fragmented care and unclear direction. If you’re unsure whether this approach is right for you, we invite you to begin with a free phone consultation with Dr. Du.
At this time, we only see clients age 17 and older.
